Joel This feels like maybe their most emotive, brooding and vulnerable output to date. The days of synthpop Yumi Zouma may truly be a thing of the past now... but I'm more than OK with them leaning more fully into the "dreampop" label and delivering gazey alt. rock - because naturally, they nail it! EDIT: I can't stop listening to this. The instrumental versions really highlight the musical layers, band as a whole has knocked it outta the park here well done all, but special mention to Olivia. You go girl, Percussion is TIGHT. Favorite track: be okay.

"EP IV", Yumi Zouma's ninth record overall, is a bursting collection of tracks crammed full of cascading piano lines, pummelling drums, chorused gang vocals, and waves of distorted guitars.

Written and produced by the band, the EP was engineered by Chloe Pu at Studio Mech in Yutenji, Japan.

The tracks were mixed by Kenny Gilmore (Weyes Blood, Julia Holter, Chris Cohen), Jake Aron (Grizzly Bear, Snail Mail, Solange), and Simon Gooding (Fazerdaze, Neil Finn, Dua Lipa), while mastering was handled by Antoine Chabert (Daft Punk, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Christine & The Queens).

The EP includes a number of additional tracks, including instrumentals, clean versions, a stripped back rendition of "KPR", the original demo to "Desert Mile", and remixes from Yutenji artists Neeche and adaptrook. ... more
